Prepare for the NMT with exactly the topics where you lose points

You do not have to pick a topic: the site builds a practice of 12 tasks from your answers in Mathematics tests. Take it as often as you like — each next one uses your new answers.

Try 7 days free
  1. TodayYou sign up and turn it on with one button. No card or payment needed.
  2. 7 daysYou practise as much as you like, with everything in Pro open.
  3. AfterPro turns off by itself, no money is charged, and your results are kept. To keep going: 199 ₴ a month (cancel any time) or 899 ₴ for the whole admission, until August 31, 2027.

For parents: a month of Pro costs about as much as half an hour with a Mathematics tutor.

How it works

Below is an example: this is how the page looks with Pro. Yours will show your own topics and points.

  1. 1

You see which topics cost you points

Each NMT topic in Mathematics splits into subtopics, and each subtopic has a status: you know it, still learning or new to you. The status comes from your answers: “you know it” means you have solved the subtopic correctly several times on different days.

    You can still gain

17of 32 NMT test points in Mathematics

This is what the subtopics you are still learning and the new ones are worth. Test points are points for correct NMT tasks; for admission they are converted to a 100–200 score using the official table.

  2. 2

    You practise exactly these topics

Most of the 12 tasks come from subtopics where you make mistakes and lose points. A few come from the ones you already know, to check they have not slipped. After each practice the next one is built anew.

You review what you learned so you do not forget

Subtopics you already know come back for a check now and then — 2 tasks, so they stay with you until the NMT. When it is time, we remind you with the bell on the site.

How personal Mathematics practice works

How a practice is put together

From your answers in all Mathematics tests: full tests, topic tests and the practice itself. The more answers there are, the more precisely the site sees your weak subtopics. If you have no tests yet, your first practice is made of subtopics that are new to you, and a full test shows all topics at once.

As many as you like: the site builds each next practice anew, from other subtopics. But several practices on different days usually give more than the same amount in one evening. A meta-analysis of 317 memory experiments showed this (Cepeda and colleagues, 2006); on maths problems the gain is smaller, but it is still there.

Yes, but it does not replace lessons: the practice gives you tasks from the topics where you make mistakes and shows what already works. Take rules and formulas from a textbook or lessons, and check here how they work in NMT tasks.

Why the practice works this way

We do not promise an NMT score: it depends on how much you practise. The practice makes sure that time goes to the topics where you lose points, and builds the test on learning research: topics mixed together, a little on each, and bringing back what you learned on other days. Why exactly this way — below.

That way what you learn stays better: in a study of 787 seventh graders (Rohrer and colleagues, 2020), those who solved problems mixed together scored 61% on a test a month later, and those who went topic by topic scored 38%. Mixed practice is harder, so you usually make more mistakes during it — that is how it should be.

More at once adds almost nothing: in a study with 100 students (Rohrer and Taylor, 2006), those who solved 9 problems of one type in a row did no better a month later than those who solved 3. Coming back to the topic on another day helped more, so a weak topic comes up in several practices.

So you do not forget them before the NMT. When to bring a topic back depends on the time left until the exam: in a study by Cepeda and colleagues (2008), where 1,354 adults learned facts, the best gap grew with the time until the test. So the closer the NMT, the more often what you learned comes back for a check.
