How not to get your choice of specialty and university wrong.

Choose a university that matches your interests and values — you will be studying there for at least 4 years, and the diploma and the people you meet stay with you forever. It is worth paying attention to how flexible the degree program is, so find out which courses the university offers and how far you can shape your own path through it. It is also important to learn from the experience of other students already studying there; you can find contacts of volunteers who are ready to share their experience on our site, if you open the detailed view of a particular specialty at a particular university, or use the StudSearch service.
Even if you have already been enrolled but feel you got the profession or the university wrong — there is no need to worry. You can always transfer to another faculty or another specialty. Remember, too, that NMT results are valid for 3 years, so you can reapply and start the journey again.
Making a mistake is not the frightening part — not correcting it is.
In times as difficult as these there is a sharp need for people in particular professions, so the state is increasing the volume of state-funded places. That makes it easier to win a state-funded place in those areas. The country needs specialists who work with people:
Remember that some professions already face high competition on the job market, which makes those specialties harder to get into. They include: law, international relations, accounting, management, finance, economics, dentistry, journalism.
Do not be afraid of taking a fee-paying place. Often, if you study hard, you can transfer to a state-funded place after 1–2 semesters. A system of has also been introduced to support applicants, covering part of the tuition fee. For example, a level 1 grant covers from , and a level 2 grant from a year. The size of the grant varies with the specialty the applicant is entering. The grant amount is of 1.3 or 1.5. Eligibility depends on your NMT results and on the specialty you are entering.
