What to do after the recommendation to keep your place by 11 August.

Most state-funded places are lost after the recommendation — when the applicant fails to meet the enrollment requirements in time. That stretch (6–13 August) is short and unforgiving. Here is what to do day by day so that you do not lose a place you have already won.
Three dates, one meaning: the recommendation has to be confirmed by an action before 18:00 on 11 August. On its own it does not enroll you.
Everything below is based on the official 2026 Admission Procedure (Ministry of Education and Science Order No. 373).
It means confirming that you choose this place and providing the required documents. In practice that usually comes down to:
The exact steps differ from one institution to another. What to submit, where and in what format — look it up in the Ministry’s Applicant Guide and on your institution’s admissions committee page in advance, before any recommendation appears. Once the list is out you will have only a few days — better to know the drill beforehand.

The paradox: people spend months planning their applications and then lose the place after winning the competition. Here is why it happens:
In reality a recommendation is an invitation that has to be accepted in time. Do not accept it and the place goes to somebody else. This is the most common fatal mistake of the whole admission process.
Set a reminder for 6 August (check the account) and for 9–10 August (meet the requirements with time to spare, not on the last day).
The targeted placement algorithm gives you one recommendation — for the highest-priority option your score got you into. That is the best your score and your ordering earned this year.
This is exactly why the order of your applications has to be thought through before you submit — at this stage nothing can be replayed. How to do it: How to order your priorities when applying.
Is a recommendation the same as being enrolled?
No. It is an invitation you have to confirm by meeting the enrollment requirements before 18:00 on 11 August. Without that there is no enrollment.
What happens if I do not meet the requirements in time?
The place is lost — it goes to somebody else. This is the most common way people lose a state-funded place after winning the competition.
Can I wait for a recommendation on a higher priority?
No. You are given the highest priority you qualified for straight away; there will be nothing higher. Meet the requirements for the one you got.
