Each subtopic has a status: you know it, still learning or new to you. The status comes from your answers in tests.
Most tasks come from subtopics where you make mistakes. After each practice the next one is built anew.
Subtopics you already know come back for a check now and then, so they stay with you until the NMT.
The chart shows how many NMT test points the subtopics you already know are worth.
From your answers in all subject tests: full tests, topic tests and the practice itself. The more answers there are, the more precisely the site sees your weak subtopics. If you have no tests yet, your first practice is made of subtopics that are new to you, and a full test shows all topics at once.
As many as you like: the site builds each next practice anew, from other subtopics. But several practices on different days usually give more than the same amount in one evening. A meta-analysis of 317 memory experiments showed this (Cepeda and colleagues, 2006).
Nothing disappears: your answers, subtopic statuses and the gap map are kept. Without Pro the subtopic names and the practice itself close, and tests you take without Pro still count. Come back to Pro and you continue from the same place.
